| Applicant | dMAT required? |
|---|---|
| Master’s, Summer 2027 intake or later, in a listed field | Yes |
| Bachelor’s applicants | No |
| PhD applicants | No |
| Winter 2026/27 intake or earlier | No |
| APS registration completed before 29 June 2026 | No |
| Exchange, double-degree or partnership programmes | No |
The fields that do require it
If none of the exemptions apply, the dMAT is required for Master’s applicants from the Summer 2027 intake holding a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields:
- Engineering, including computer science and IT
- Commerce, accounting and finance
- Economics
- Business and management
Check before you pay
The exam costs €150 and is non-refundable, and it is entirely possible to book it without needing it. The date on your APS registration is the detail most often missed — if it completed before 29 June 2026, the requirement does not reach you at all.
