GMAT made simple
Graduate Management Admission Test
The business-school admissions test: three 45-minute sections, at a centre or online.
What is the GMAT?
Students applying for an MBA, a Master’s in Management, or a business master’s such as finance, analytics or marketing, in India or abroad.
Full-time and executive MBA, Master’s in Management (MiM), MS Finance, Business Analytics and other specialised business master’s.
The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is the admissions test for business school, run by GMAC. Since 2024 the only version is the one first called the GMAT Focus Edition: 64 questions in three 45-minute sections, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights, with no essay.
You choose the order of the three sections, can bookmark questions, and can change up to three answers in each section before it ends. The test is 2 hours 15 minutes, with an optional 10-minute break, at a test centre or online from home.
Scores run from 205 to 805, with each section scored 60 to 90, and stay valid for five years. You can take the GMAT up to five times in a rolling 12 months, at least 16 days apart.
Most business schools accept the GMAT or the GRE. The GMAT is the business-specific test, and some schools and scholarship committees still read it more easily. Compare the two on our GMAT vs GRE page before you choose.

From GMAT to degree, funded
One education loan can cover exam prep, tuition, living costs and travel, so money never decides where you study.
- Covers exam fees, coaching & visa
- Tuition + living expenses abroad
- Collateral & non-collateral options
- Low interest, fast approvals
Fund the whole journey
A GMAT attempt is a small cost next to an MBA abroad, which often runs to ₹40 lakh or more with living costs. Planning the loan early means the test, applications and deposits are part of one funded plan.
Our financing partners fund MBA and business master’s programmes abroad, including tuition, living costs and pre-departure costs such as test fees, applications and the visa, through education loans with or without collateral.
A strong GMAT score is also one of the main things business schools look at when they award scholarships, so a few more weeks of preparation can lower what you borrow.
